Random sample

Every element of the population has a known NONZERO chance of being selected

Simple Random Sample

Everyone has an equal chance of being selected

Stratified Sample

Population is divided into groups based on characteristics. Within the group, a simple random sample is selected.

Strata

The initial groups of a stratified sample

Cluster Sample

Population is assigned one and only one group called a cluster. A sample of clusters is chosen then surveyed

Multistage Sample

A sample that is combination of different sampling methods are used

Systematic Sample

Every member of the population is first made and chosen to be put on a list. Every “k”th element on the list is chosen

Match Pair Design

Experiment that only has two treatment methods and subjects can be grouped into pairs

Repeated Measure Design

Each subject is treated at DIFFERENT TIMES with each of the treatments and results being compared. A TYPE OF MATCH PAIR
