Irony
An unexpected aspect of a situation; a situation that is strange or amusing because it is the opposite of what is expected.
Relative Clauses
Parts of sentences that give more information about a person or thing, typically beginning with a relative pronoun such as who, whom, whose, or which.
Metaphor
A word coming from a Greek word meaning 'transfer' that compares two things or ideas by transferring a quality or feature of one thing to another.
Cyclone
A violent tropical storm in which strong winds move in a circle.
Gale
An extremely strong wind.
Typhoon
A violent tropical storm with very strong winds.
Tornado
A violent storm whose centre is a cloud in the shape of a funnel.
Hurricane
A violent storm with very strong winds, especially in the western Atlantic Ocean.
Whirlwind
A very strong wind that moves very fast in a spinning movement and causes a lot of damage.
Hemlock
A poisonous plant (tree) with small white flowers.
