bohr’s model
is a planetary model of the atom proposed by Niels Bohr in 1913. It describes electrons orbiting the nucleus in fixed paths and energy levels, explaining atomic structure and spectral lines.
ground electronic state
when the electron is in the lowest energy orbit
n = 1 orbit closest to the nucleus
quantum numbers
integer numbers having only specific allowed value and used to characterize the arrangement of electrons in an atom
excited electronic state
when an atom receives energy and is moved to an orbit with a higher n value
