What are adjacent angles?
Adjacent angles are angles that share a common vertex and side, but have no points in common.
Define vertical angles.
Vertical angles are angles whose sides form opposite rays.
What is a linear pair?
A linear pair consists of angles whose noncommon sides are opposite rays and form a line.
What are complementary angles?
Complementary angles are two angles whose measures add up to 90 degrees.
Define supplementary angles.
Supplementary angles are two angles whose measures add up to 180 degrees.
What is an angle bisector?
An angle bisector is a ray that divides an angle into two adjacent angles that are congruent.
What is the midpoint formula?
The midpoint formula is used to find the point that is exactly halfway between two points.
What does the distance formula calculate?
The distance formula calculates the distance between two points in a coordinate plane.
What does perimeter measure?
Perimeter measures the distance around a geometric figure.
Define circumference.
Circumference measures the distance around a circle.
What is area in geometry?
Area is the number of square units that a geometric figure encloses.
What is inductive reasoning?
Inductive reasoning is the process of arriving at a general conclusion based on observing patterns or specific examples.
What is a conjecture?
A conjecture is an educated guess based on inductive reasoning.
What is the conditional statement format?
The conditional statement is expressed as p -> q.
What is the converse of a conditional statement?
The converse is formed by switching the hypothesis and conclusion (q -> p).
How is an inverse statement formed?
An inverse is formed by negating the hypothesis and conclusion of the conditional statement (~p -> ~q).
Define contrapositive.
The contrapositive is formed by negating the hypothesis and conclusion of the converse statement (~q -> ~p).
What does 'logically equivalent statements' refer to?
Logically equivalent statements are those that have the same truth value, such as a conditional and its contrapositive.
What is the law of detachment?
The law of detachment states that if p -> q is true and p is true, then q is true.
What is the law of syllogism?
The law of syllogism states that if p -> q is true, and q -> r is true, then p -> r is also true.
State the reflexive property of equality.
The reflexive property of equality states that a = a.
What does CPCTC stand for?
CPCTC stands for 'Corresponding Parts of Congruent Triangles are Congruent'.
What defines parallel lines?
Parallel lines are coplanar lines that do not intersect.
What are skew lines?
Skew lines are non-coplanar lines that do not intersect and are not parallel.
Give the definition of a transversal.
A transversal is a line that intersects two or more coplanar lines at different points.
What is the Triangle-sum Theorem?
The Triangle-sum Theorem states that the sum of the measures of the interior angles of a triangle is 180 degrees.
What is the significance of the centroid in triangles?
The centroid is the point of concurrency of the medians of a triangle.
What does the Hinge Theorem state?
The Hinge Theorem states that if two sides of a triangle are congruent to two sides of another triangle and the included angles are not congruent, then the longer third side is opposite the larger included angle.
