X is added to MORE subbed carbon, while H is added to LEAST subbed carbon.

What does ROOR do for HX additions?
It causes the addition of H and X to occur in an anti-Markovnikov fashion, where X is added to the LEAST subbed carbon and H is added to the MORE substituted carbon.
