Three divisions of Young Poland into Epochs

The epoch can be divided into 3 perods

1) 1890-1900 is the phase of crysitillization of new ideas and the growing decadent moods and the crisis of values related to the coming end of the century

2) 1900-1910 was the period when leading authors wrote - Wladyslaw Reymont, Stanislaw Wypanski and Stephan zeromski

3) 1910-1918 that is the time of changes and settlements and announcement of artistic concepts

Philosophy of Young Poland

- Fryderk Nietzhe - objective morality and free will do not exist

- Henri Bergson- human reason distorts reality and simplifies it

- Arthur schopender- created a pessimistic view of the world

Impressionism

a trend shaped in France in the second half of the 19th century. The most prominent representative is painter, Claude Monet. In poetry, impressionism manifests itself in emotionality, a description of fleeting states, not expressed in terms of concepts, and a representation of the world through the senses

Symbolism

the world is only a symbol, a reflection of true, ideal reality. In poetry, symbols were used to express an idea or abstract concept that cannot be expressed directly; uses allusions, assocations and suggestions

Decadentism

an attitude towards culture and society formed at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, based on the decline of European Culture, Decadence was called the disease of the age

Neo-romanctism

a term used to describe the trends dominating in modernism, which primary draws attention to the relationship of the epoch in Romanticism
