outer (external) ear

part of ear that protects inner structures of the ear from foreign particles

middle ear

part of ear that maintains equal pressure outside and inside the ear

inner ear

part of ear that maintains balance

nose

helps to smell and passes air into the lungs

throat

acts as a passage for air, food, and liquids

Hearing loss

occurs due to conduction problems and sensorineural impairments

otitis

the inflammation of the ear that occurs due to dermatologic conditions such as seborrhea or continuous use of earphones.

Ménière’s disease

a disorder of the inner ear that results in hearing loss or vertigo

Strep throat

occurs due to inflammation of streptococcal bacteria
