1. Know the difference between Executive and Congressional reconstruction.

-Executive reconstruction is the presidential reconstruction, meaning Lincoln's ten percent act, black code, and Johnson's attempts at reconstruction(softer reconstruction.)

-Congressional reconstruction is the radical reconstruction from republicans, meaning black male suffrage, freemans bureau, military districts, 14th and 15th amendments, (more aggressive and take on reconstruction)

2. Know Lincoln’s view on reconstruction.
Lincoln's view on reconstruction was to seamlessly reunify the nations as quickly and painlessly as possible. He was never able to fully finish his plans due to his assasination.

3. Know what were the requirements ex-confederate states needed to complete to be readmitted into the Union under Lincoln’s plan.
The ex-confederate states needed at least ten percent of their population to take an oath to support the union. They also needed to form a new state government, and obviously abolish all slavery.

The radical republicans were abolitionists/part of the republican party. They were the most predominant/ uncompromising anti-slavery wing. They pushed hard for slavery to end and for everyone to be equal.

The main purpose was to change the 10 percent of population in Lincoln's plan to half of the population take the oath. It guaranteed equality to freemen.

Granting people the right to American citizenship,no matter what their ethnic differences. Congress planned to enforce it using the reconstruction act and the military enforcement.

The KKK started by confederate veterans, it was a secret fraternity that's main goal was self preservation, restoring white supremacy using fear and propaganda. They disliked blacks very much and did not believe they deserved rights.they tried to restore white supremacy by having wars against free labor, civil liberties and democracy targeting black schools, churches and republicans.

Redeemers are men who try to modernize the south after reconstruction. They wanted to maintain white supremacy.

12. What was the compromise of 1877? How did it benefit the South?
The compromise was a deal set between Tilden and Hayes election. The deal was if the Democrats removed filibusters that stopped the votes going in favor of Hayes they would in return withdraw all the federal troops from the south, ending reconstruction.

The main reason Americans killed the bison in the west was because it was native americans main source of resources so killing them off would force them into reserves and rely on the US. Both the US and the NA were responsible for mass killings of men(mainly US).

The act was to give Indians farm land, each family receiving 160 acres of land. But this caused native americans to lose land, 90mil acres were distributed and the US owned 97.5% of it.
