FISH CAPTURE
The process of taking or seizing fish with the use of different kinds of tools or fishing gear.
FISH CULTURE
Refers to raising fish for family consumption or for economic or business activity.
FISH PRESERVATION
The process of preserving the surplus fish in the market to prevent spoilage and wastage and to gain additional profit.
HAND-GATHERING
Collecting fish or shellfish by hand; also called 'NOODLING FISHING,' which is the practice of catching catfish by hand without rods, reels, or baited hooks.
SPEARFISHING
An ancient method of fishing conducted with an ordinary spear or a specialized variant such as a harpoon, trident, arrow, or speargun to pierce fish.
NETTING
Using fishing nets to trap or entangle fish.
ANGLING
Using a hook and a line to catch fish.
TRAPPING
Using devices such as pots, cages, or weirs to capture fish.
FISHING NET
A device made from fibers woven in a grid-like structure; one of the oldest tools for fishing, originally made from natural materials; composed of meshes.
MESH
A basic construction consisting of four knots and four bars.
