technology - rapid growth n technology, as compared to older gens.todays youth surroiunded by (list) .new etchnology developed to ease the life of current gen. advantages helps people conenct online. disadvantage - increased the reliance on technology ed to negative consequences. As a result, many young people now experience a more sedentary lifestyle, which affects both their physical and mental health.
covid 19 - closed down businesss, limited face to face interactions and people had to isolate. these restrcitions caused a shift in daily routine ppl more dependant on technology. some individuals tprioritise their mental health, others experienced heightened stress, loneliness, and disruption to their education.
overall - both dramaticlly reshaped life with both positives and negatives

socioeconomic - socioeconomic status refers to a personsa ccess to education, income, healthcar, housing, and other resoi=urces that affect daiily living. a peron from an affluent family may view health on maintaining balanced life, while poorer families may view health on survival. the different levels of acces to healthcare services can shape different meanings
environmental - geographic location, air and water quality, and community safety. those living in safe places may see health as beign active. whilethose living in polluted neightbourhoods may view ehalth as avoiding injuring and managaing chronic conditions.
PART A - Describe the nature and extent of the use of alcohol and other drugs that affects young people.
types of substances used, the frequency of use, and the reasons young people engage in substance use. young people experiment with these substances due to factors such as peer pressure, anxiety, curiosity, or as a way to cope with mental health challenges. one in five high school students aged 14–17 have consumed alcohol in the past month, and around 15% have tried cannabis at least once.

increase the likelihood of a young person making negative health choices. risk factors include mental health issues, family conflict, low self-esteem, peer pressure, and growing up in environments where substance use is normalised. (example). protective factors are influences that reduce the risk of negative behaviours and support positive decision-making. strong family and friendship support networks, high self-esteem, involvement in community activities, clear personal goals, and strong health literacy. balance between risk and protective factors can strongly influence health choices

connectedness - feel valued and supported by relationhsips with others. yougn ppl whom are more connected with others stress less and ask for help when needed. implication > reduced feelings of loneliness, increases resilience and mental capacity.

gov - apart of gov funded by gov, carry out services and functions for public. by funding services, education campaigns, new legislations, government initatives. they enhance an young persons life make health chocies tailored to oyung people. e.g ACYP.
NGO - independant form gov. social, humanitarian, environment, they are typically non profit, but some can be funded by the government. provide youth friendly services. e.g. headspece, over 100 centersin australia. provide free emntal health counselling, study and support. This helps reduce barries like cost and stigma to people.
