do not use flammable materials

near an open flame

if a fire erupts

immediately tell your teacher and step away from your lab table

always where goggles

when working with chemicals, glass, or heat

you wear contact lenses

if youre not sure of what to do

first ask your lab partners, then ask your teacher

when getting rid of leftover chemicals

dispose of them according to what your teacher tells you what to do

talk to your teacher if

a lab is not completed during the class period

when heating something in a test tube

make sure the tube is always pointing away

when handling something hot

always use tongs

if you hurt yourself

tell your teacher

always check your equipment for cracks and dirt

dont use something if its not clean and undamaged

dont push a glass tube

into a rubber stopper

glasses do not

offer the same protection as goggles

do not ever wear

loose clothing, dangling jewelry or sandals in a lab

dont mess around

in a lab

if you spill an acid on yourself

wash with lots of water

wash your hands with soap when your done in lab

make sure your lab space is always

clean and neat

do not work when

there is no teacher present

do not remove

any chemicals or materials from a lab
