Experimental group: they are the cause, independent variable

Control group: not exposed to the cause, they don’t receive treatment

Random Assignment

helpful for reducing bias

Double Blind

neither party (scientist or experimental group) knows what they are receiving

Placebo Effect

the effect of taking a pill and feeling the effects even though the pill was just candy and it shouldn’t give any effects.

Psychoanalytic theory

hard to apply to a broad population, but it is easy to deep into understanding as a individual
