Density
A measure of mass per unit volume (density=volumemass), which indicates how much mass a substance has relative to the volume it occupies.
Intensive Property
A property, such as density, that is independent of the size or amount of the sample and can be used to identify substances.
Fahrenheit Scale
A temperature scale on which water freezes at 32∘F and boils at 212∘F.
Celsius Scale
A temperature scale on which water freezes at 0∘C and boils at 100∘C.
Kelvin Scale
The SI temperature scale on which water freezes at 273.15K and boils at 373.15K.
Absolute Zero
The coldest possible temperature, defined as 0K on the Kelvin scale.
Fahrenheit to Celsius Conversion Formula
The mathematical equation used to convert degrees Fahrenheit to degrees Celsius: TC=(TF−32)×95.
Celsius to Fahrenheit Conversion Formula
The mathematical equation used to convert degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit: TF=59TC+32.
Celsius to Kelvin Conversion Formula
The mathematical equation used to convert degrees Celsius to kelvins: TK=TC+273.15.
