Handling chemicals

Goggles

-looks like glasses

-protects from things going directly in eye

-but debris can get in from sides

Safety Goggles

-these cover eyes more then the reg goggles

-debris cannot come in from sides or behind lenses

Hearing Protection

-prevents hearing damage or loss

-should be worn when working with equipment that produces noise over 85 decibels

Dusk Mask

-prevents inhalation of dust particles

-doesn’t protect against chemicals, gases or vapors

Gas Mask

-protects the face eyes and lungs

-connected to a single cartridge that works to purify the air you are breathing

-prevents the inhalation of poisonous chemical fumes, gas and vapors

Respirator

-protects the face, eyes and lungs.

-It has two filters that works to purify the air you are breathing

-prevents inhalation of poisonous chemical fumes, gas and vapors

Compressed Air Sprayer

-Can be carried or worn like a backpack

-sprays liquid chemicals with ease and accuracy

Chemical Resistant Gloves

-Larger then conventional latex gloves

-made of chemical resistant material so you cannot absorb chemicals through your hands/ dermal contact

Spray Suit

-full body suit with a hood

-made of chemical resistant material; can be flame retardant

-prevents dermal absorption of chemicals and protects clothes

Apron

-chemical resistant ; can be flame retardant

-protects from chemical splashes and spills that could ruin clothing

Footwear

-always wear closed-toed shoes

-depending on the work, can be steel-toed or rubber boots

-protects feet from chemical absorption and injury
