Describe the myogenic stimulation of the heart and how the regular contraction of the atria and ventricles is coordinated.

RECEPTORS:
BARO
CHEMO
RECEPTORS TO INCREASE HEART RATE:
SYMPATHETIC CONTROL:
STIMULUS: Fall in BP detected by baro / Decrease in pH.
RECEPTOR: Baro / Chemo in wall of carotid arteries and aorta,
Send more frequent impulses to MO,
COORDINATOR: CV centre in medulla sends more frequent impulses down SN.
EFFECTOR: SAN stimulated by release of noradrenaline from SN to increase no. impulses.
RESPONSE: Cardiac muscle contracts more frequently and heart rate increases.
NEUROTRANSMITTER AND NERVOUS SYSTEM FOR DECREASE OF HEART RATE?
Acetylcholine.
Parasympathetic.
RECEPTORS TO DECREASE HEART RATE:
Opposite.
