RECEPTORS TO INCREASE HEART RATE:

SYMPATHETIC CONTROL:

  1. STIMULUS: Fall in BP detected by baro / Decrease in pH.

  2. RECEPTOR: Baro / Chemo in wall of carotid arteries and aorta,

    1. Send more frequent impulses to MO,

  3. COORDINATOR: CV centre in medulla sends more frequent impulses down SN.

  4. EFFECTOR: SAN stimulated by release of noradrenaline from SN to increase no. impulses.

  5. RESPONSE: Cardiac muscle contracts more frequently and heart rate increases.
