Robert Schumann (1810-1856)
Started as a piano virtuoso, later worked as a teacher/conductor and wrote musical criticism, composed a lot of piano pieces (character), had many serious mental health issues

Highly prolific but not very popular composer; sister of Felix Mendelssohn
