Dignity
Worth or value beyond price.
The Human Person Adequately and Integrally Considered
A framework including eight dimensions: 1. Subject, 2. Embodied/Corporeal, 3. Being-in-the-world, 4. Others, 5. Institutions, 6. God/Transcendence, 7. Time and History, and 8. Original and Equal.
Ontological Dignity
The dignity that belongs to a person simply because they exist and are willed, created, and loved by God; it is indelible and can never be annulled.
Moral Dignity
Refers to how people exercise their freedom; it can de facto be "lost" if a person acts against their conscience or nature.
Intrinsic/Inherent Dignity
Dignity consisting of species membership, reason, and free choice.
Acquired Dignity
Dignity categorized by self-worth and social status.
Being-in-the-World
An embodied subject in relationship to all that is.
