Normal force
A force or a component of a force which a surface exerts on an object with, which it is in contact, and which is pendicular to the surface.
Weight
The gravitational force the earth exerts on any object or near its surface
Frictional force
The force that opposes the motion of an object and which acts parallel to the surface
Static friction
The force that opposes the tendency of motion of a stationarry object relatve to a surface
Kinectic friction
The force that opposes the motion of a moving object relative to a surface
Coefficient of kinectic friction
The ratio of the kinectic friction force to the normal force
Newtons First Law Motion
A body will remain in its state of rest or motion at constant velocity unless a non-zero resultant/net force acts on it
Newtons Second Law of Motion
When a non-zero resultant/net fote acts on an object, the object wil accelerate in the direction of the force at an acceleration directly prportional to the forc and inversly proportional to the mas of the object
Newtons Thrid Law of Motion
When Object A exerts a force on Object B, Object B simultaneosuly exerts an oppositely directed force of equal magnitude on Object A
Inertia
The resistance of an object to any change in its state of motion. The mass of an object is a quantitve measure of its inertia.
Explain it is important that passengars wear a safetly belt
They exert a non-zero force that allows the passengar to expiernce the same deceleration as the vehicle
