Cellular Organization
All organisms consist of one or more cells. Each cell is bounded by membranes that separates the organism from its surrondings.
Characteristics of Living Organisms:
Cellular Organization, Ordered Complexity, Sensitivity, Growth Development & Reproduction, Energy Utilization, Homeostasis, Evolutionary Adaptation
Ordered Complexity
All living things are complex and highly ordered, your cells contain many complex molecular systems.
Sensitivity
All organisms respond to stimuli. Human’s pupils dilate when in the sun and plants grow towards sources of light
Energy Utilization
All organisms take in energy and use it to perform work.
Homeostasis
All organisms maintain relatively constant internal conditions that are difficult from their environment.
Evolutionary Adaptation
All organisms interact with other organisms and nonliving things for their survival and therefore, organisms as a whole adapt to their environments.
Cellular Level
Atoms are bound together to make molecules, which are assembled into organelles.
Organism Level
Tissues are groups of simillar cells bound together, which form organs, which form
