Model
A representation of something. It is often a three-dimensional structure BUT can also be a diagram or drawing.

Plans/designs power stations and develops new ways to generate electricity. They also engineer electrical circuit boards and instrumentation important to different types of electronics.
Brainstorming
Process of generating ideas and solutions to the problem.
Constraints
Restrictions (or limitations) placed on potential solutions to a problem. Can include limitations in time, money and resource or material availability.
Criteria
Design expectations that the solution must meet so to fully solve the problem

The steps that engineers use to design something to solve a problem
Mechanical Engineer
Designs anything that involves a mechanical process, such as cars, boats, wheelchairs, toys. Mechanical engineers are known as the "general practitioners" of the profession because they solve many different problems.
Biomedical Engineer
Develops technologies related to healthcare, such as diagnostic tools, artificial organs, prosthetics and other medical instruments.
Environmental Engineer
Develops ways to clean up pollution, designs more effective recycling systems and designs safe ways to dispose toxic waste.
