What are protective factors?
Positive conditions or influences that help individuals cope with challenges, enhance resilience, and promote healthy development by acting as buffers against stress.
Define proactive action within the context of protective factors.
Taking steps or acts to prevent problems from happening.
What are risk factors?
Negative conditions or influences that increase the likelihood of adverse outcomes like mental health issues, poor physical health, or developmental challenges.
What age range is defined as the transition from Late Adolescence to Early Adulthood?
18−25 years old.
What is the core difference between self-image and self-worth as components of self-concept?
Self-image is how you see your actual self, whereas self-worth is the intrinsic value you have in yourself.
In the concept of self-concept, what is the Ideal Self?
The version of who you really want to be.
What factors influence a person's identity?
Family, culture, religion, community, personal experiences, social media, and peers.
How is self-regulation defined?
The ability to control one's thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in different situations.
What are the five key skills in self-regulation?
1. Goal Setting, 2. Self-Monitoring, 3. Emotional Control, 4. Decision-Making, and 5. Time Management.
Name two protective factors for physiological development.
Regular physical activity and balanced nutrition and sleep.
What risk factors can impact psychosocial development?
Social isolation or loneliness, peer pressure, toxic comparisons, and unstable or toxic relationships.
What is the difference between self-efficacy and self-awareness?
Self-efficacy is an individual's judgment of their own abilities, while self-awareness is the conscious awareness of one's own thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and traits.
Define self-acceptance.
The ability to acknowledge and embrace all aspects of yourself, including both strengths and weaknesses, without judgment.
What are the three components of practicing mindfulness according to Lesson 3?
1. Living with awareness in the present moment, 2. without judging or rejecting the moment, and 3. without attachment to the moment.
What is meditation?
Practicing mindfulness skills while sitting, standing, or lying quietly for a predetermined period of time by focusing or opening the mind.
In physical development, what is the role of a fitness coach in strength training?
Ensuring proper form to prevent injuries, designing structured workouts, providing motivation, and educating on muscle function and recovery.
Describe the Medium Level of strength training.
An intermediate level incorporating moderate resistance, increased reps, and complex movement patterns like barbell squats and deadlifts.

Yoga, martial arts (such as Qigong, tai chi, aikido, and karate), hiking, horseback riding, and walking.
