What are eukaryotic cells?

Cells that contain a nucleus and mitochondria where their DNA is stored. In animal, plants, fungi and protist cells.

What are prokaryotic cells?

Cells that do not have a nucleus their DNA is not enclosed within a nucleus. Examples their in bacteria.

What are the three forms DNA can take?

Double helix - the basic structure

Chromatin DNA - wrapped around proteins

Chromosome - DNA tightly coiled and condensed

What are nucleotides?

Nuclear tides are the Building blocks (sub units) of DNA

DNA is made from millions of nuclear tides joined together in a long chain

What are three parts of a DNA nucleotide?

Deoxyribose sugar

Phosphate Group

Nitrogenous base A T C G

Nuclear tide = sugar+ phosphate + base
