36
New cards
Patch Tool Options Bar
* Selection Types:
* Normal
* This is the normal selection that you do with the patch tool.
* Add to Selection
* allows you to add more parts to your patch selection than we do using the patch tool
* Subtract from Selection
* allows you to remove some parts of the already selected parts which we want to patch.
* Intersect with Selection
* it takes the part of the selection that is common between two selections
37
New cards
Patch  Type
* This tool helps us to choose between the type of patch we want to make.
* There are two options: Normal and Content-Aware.
38
New cards
Normal Type
This is the default option, in this type the patch is done like the normal mode.
39
New cards
Features of the Normal Patch Option:
* Patch source from destination:
* This option helps us to patch the source (selected part) with the destination.

* Patch destination from the source:
* This option helps us to patch the destination part of the image with the copy of the source(or selected part of the image).
* Use transparency while blending patch:
* This option when enabled uses transparency factor while blending the patched part.
* Pattern
* The next option helps us to patch the part of the image with a specific pattern.
* Diffusion:

* This option tells how quickly the patched portion adapts to the surrounding pixels. More the value, the better the diffusion. By default, it is set to 5 and has range from 1-7.

\
40
New cards
Content-Aware
In this option, Photoshop chooses the best fill for your patch and makes the blending much more smooth and realistic. It is recommended to use these options when the user cannot do good patching in Normal mode.
41
New cards
Properties of Content Aware Patch Option
Structure

Color
42
New cards
Structure
It has a range of values from 1-7. This value tells the amount to which the patch should be blended with the nearby pixels of the image.
43
New cards
Color
It has a range of values from 0-10. This value tells us the amount of blending of colors that the patch will have. If the value is set to 0, the blending is disabled or there is no blending of colors.
44
New cards
Direct Adjustments
adjusts things directly to the image/layer and can destroy the image. (Brightness/Contrast, Levels Adjustments, Vibrance, Hue/Saturation)
45
New cards
Adjustment Layers
give you greater control and flexibility over image edits than direct adjustments — you can make nondestructive adjustments to the colors and tones in your image, and keep editing the adjustment layers without permanently changing the pixels in the image
46
New cards
Parts of Adjustment Layers
Brightness/Contrast Levels Curves Exposure Vibrance Hue/Saturation Color Balance Black and White Photo Filter Channel Mixer Color Lookup Invert Posterize Gradient Map' Selective Color
47
New cards
Brightness/Contrast
Adjusts the tonal range of your image. The brightness slider is for adjusting the highlights in your image and the Contrast slider is for adjusting the shadows in your image
48
New cards
Levels
modify the tonal values in an image by adjusting the levels of the shadows, mid-tones, and highlights. It's one of the most used tools in the adjustment layer panel and using just a touch of levels will go a long way in correcting your images.It has the power to adjust brightness, contrast, and tonal range by specifying the location of complete black, complete white, and mid tones in a histogram.
49
New cards
Curves
lets you adjust as many points as you want throughout the entire tonal range of your image and is the most powerful and precise tool for editing the tones in an image.When you click on the curves adjustment, a diagonal line on a graph appears (left) which represents your image's tonal range. The x-axis represents the original values in the image, while the y-axis represents the newly adjusted values. Along each axis, you can see that there's a strip that's a gradient from black to white, representing the tonal range of the image.To increase the overall quality and contrast of your image, click to add points on the line of your graph. Once you've added a point, you can drag the point up or down with your mouse. Pulling the point down darkens your image, and pulling the point up brightens it.
50
New cards
Exposure
lets you adjust exposure levels with three sliders: Exposure, Offset, and Gamma. Exposure will adjust only the highlights of the image; Offset adjusts the mid tones and Gamma will adjust the dark tones only.
51
New cards
Vibrance
This adjustment layer modifies the vibrance of an image in two ways. The Saturation slider evenly increases the saturation of all the colors in the image. The Vibrance slider modifies the level of saturation of all the colors too but more selectively, focusing on the least saturated colors and avoiding over-saturation of skin tones.
52
New cards
Hue/Saturation
lets you adjust the hue, saturation, and lightness of your entire image or in a specific range of colors in your image.
53
New cards
Color Balance
changes the mixture of colors in an image.
54
New cards
Black and White
lets you make grayscale versions of your images.
55
New cards
Photo Filter
adds different color filters on top of your image.
56
New cards
Gradient Map
This tool converts the grayscale range of an image to a custom gradient fill.this tool comes with a bunch of different gradients, all of which you can adjust to your liking in the gradient editor window. Checking the "Reverse" box inverts the colors of your gradient.
57
New cards
Selective Color
selectively modifies the amount of a primary color without modifying the other primary colors in your imag
58
New cards
Channel Mixer
modifies the colors in your image to create tinted or grayscale images.
59
New cards
Threshold
turns your image into a black-and-white image.
60
New cards
Color Lookup
This adjustment comes with a bunch of pre-packaged "looks" for you to apply to your image.
61
New cards
Invert
makes a photo negative effect by inverting the colors of your image.
62
New cards
Posterize
produces a flat, poster-like appearance to a photo by reducing the number of brightness values (levels) in the image.
