Pentacles (Category)
Real life / material world. Money, work, body, home, time, effort, stability, physical proof, and results.
Wands (Category)
Energy / desire / action. Passion, motivation, ambition, sex, confidence, creativity, movement, and spark.
Cups (Category)
Emotions / connection. Love, feelings, intuition, grief, romance, attachment, tenderness, emotional truth.
Swords (Category)
Mind / truth / conflict. Thoughts, communication, anxiety, decisions, clarity, boundaries, logic, and words.
Pentacles (Core question)
What is happening practically? What is real, stable, repeated, paid for, built, or physically shown?
Wands (Core question)
What is driving this? What is wanted? Where is the heat, impulse, courage, or momentum?
Cups (Core question)
What is being felt? What does the heart know before the brain explains it?
Swords (Core question)
What is being thought, said, decided, avoided, cut through, or clarified?
Earth Element
Associated with Pentacles. Characterized as slow, grounded, physical, practical, steady, patient, and realistic.
Fire Element
Associated with Wands. Characterized as fast, passionate, alive, bold, inspired, sometimes impulsive or prideful.
Water Element
Associated with Cups. Characterized as emotional, intuitive, flowing, receptive, healing, soft, and deep.
Air Element
Associated with Swords. Characterized as mental, verbal, sharp, analytical, detached, clear, sometimes anxious or harsh.
Pentacles (Love-reading)
Consistency, commitment, timing, effort, security, showing up, and building something real.
Wands (Love-reading)
Chemistry, attraction, pursuit, sexual pull, excitement, wanting, and competitive energy.
Cups (Love-reading)
Feelings, emotional bonding, care, vulnerability, nostalgia, love, longing, and healing.
Swords (Love-reading)
Thinking, overthinking, truth, talks, silence, decisions, boundaries, conflict, and mental distance.

Represents mental conflict.

Represents clashing energy.

Represents material lack.

Tarot Number Stage
In a reading, the number (1-10) gives the stage of the story, while the suit tells which category of life the story is happening in.
