classification of matter
Matter can be classified based on its composition and properties. The basic states of matter are solid, liquid, gas, and plasma
States of Matter
solids have a definite shape and volume. Liquids have a definite volume but take the shape of their container. Gases have no definite shape or volume. Plasma is an ionized gas with high energy.
Scientific Notation
A way of expressing numbers that are too big or too small to be conveniently written in decimal form. It is typically written as a×10ba×10b, where 1≤∣a∣<101≤∣a∣<10 and bb is an integer.
Components of Scientific Notation
1. Coefficient (a): A number between 1 and 10 (including 1, but excluding 10).
Base (10): The number 10, which is raised to a power.
Exponent (b): An integer representing the number of places the decimal point must be moved to convert the number to standard form
