Unfair Discrimination
Discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, disability, or socioeconomic status is prohibited.
Sexual Harassment
Practitioners must not engage in sexual harassment as defined by R.A. No. 7877.
Other Harassments
Knowing harassment or demeaning of persons is prohibited.
Avoiding Harm
Reasonable steps must be taken to avoid or minimize foreseeable harm.
Multiple Relationships
Practitioners should refrain from relationships that impair objectivity or risk exploitation. If a harmful multiple relationship arises, steps must be taken to resolve it in the client's best interest.
Conflict of Interest
Practitioners should not take on roles where interests could impair professional performance.
Third-Party Requests for Services
The nature of the relationship and limits to confidentiality must be clarified at the outset.
Exploitative Relationships
Exploitation of persons over whom the practitioner has authority (clients, students, employees) is strictly prohibited.
Cooperation with Other Professionals
Practitioners should cooperate with colleagues to serve clients effectively.
Informed Consent
Use language understandable to the client. For those legally incapable of consent, practitioners must seek permission from a legally authorized person and protect the individual's rights.
Psychological Services Delivered To or Through Organizations
Information about the nature, objectives, and limits of services must be provided beforehand.
Interruption of Psychological Services
Reasonable efforts must be made to plan for facilitating services if they are interrupted by illness, death, or financial limitations.
