Misses
I want to make sure that I don’t mistake a raccoon for our dog in the backyard. However there have been several reports of coyote attacks. Therefore, the strategy that I will adopt will minimize
False Alarms
Hits
Correct rejections
Misses
neutral
A conditioned response is the response to a previously _______stimulus
experienced
obnoxious
emotional
neutral
Include a few presentations of just the loud sound without the furry animal
How could baby Albert have unlearned his irrational fear? Pick the quickest way to unlearn. (Think about how in the tone+shock experiments by Robert Rescorla adding a few trials where only shock was presented caused unlearning or lack of conditioned response to tone)
Include a few presentations of just the loud sound without the furry animal
Fewer pairings of the furry animal with the loud sound
More pairings of the furry animal with the loud sound
One example of non associative learning is
correct rejection
classical conditioning
habituation
sensory adaptation
false alarms
I am expecting a visitor, but I am not sure when they will arrive. And I know when they arrive they can wait. I am also working on an important assignment therefore I would prefer to not be unnecessarily disturbed. Therefore, the strategy that I will adopt to minimize:
False Alarms
Hits
Correct rejections
Misses
scary scene = US, mask = CS
Horror movies use masks in association with scary scenes which makes people develop a phobia or irrational fear of masks. Masks are usually benign or harmless but after being associated with horror movies a fear of masks develops. After conditioning, in this example what is the CS and US?
scary scene=US
scary scene=CS
Mask=US
Mask=CS
