Active workplane

The workplane containing the active sketch. It is indicated in the design object browser by bold type face.

Attributes

In CAD, custom information that can be assigned to a block of entities.

Basic Hole System

A system of specifying dimensions and tolerances of close-fitting cylindrical parts in which the design size of the hole is the basic size and the allowance is applied to the shaft.

Basic Shaft System

A system of specifying dimensions and tolerances of close-fitting cylindrical parts in which the design size of the shaft is the basic size and the allowance is applied to the hole.

Counterclockwise

Radial movement in the direction opposite that of the hands of an analog clock face. Also called anticlockwise.

Drag Handle

In the graphics pane of a design file, a square that appears over a selected object when you have opened a creation or modification command. Click and drag the handle to interactively change the design variable value.

Guide surface

A surface that helps control the shape of a sweep along a complex path.

Help string

A short description of what happens if you select a tool or option over which the cursor is hovering, or if a tool is selected, a prompt indicating the appropriate action is shown.

Interconnection Diagram

A type of connection or wiring diagram that shows only connections outside a component.

Interpolation Point

A point in the interior of a spline that sets the location of the extremity of an individual curve.

Kinematic Motion

The motion of a body or group of bodies without consideration of mass or other physical forces.

Lump

Any set of external feature or surface faces created when you develop a solid model.

Truss

A configuration of structural elements that adds strength to a structure.
