Proclamation of 1763
British restricted Colonial expansion west of the Appalachian Mountains to avoid conflict with the Natives.

Articles of Confederation
The first governing document of the United States. Weak central government with only a legislative branch. Proved Weak by Shay’s Rebellion.
Northwest Ordinance of 1787
Established process of creating a state, and prohibited slavery in new states. Only good thing created under the Articles of Confederation.
The Great Compromise
Compromised the Virginia Plan (population-based representation favoring big states) with the New Jersey Plan (equal representation favoring small states) to create a bicameral legislature of the Senate and House of Representatives.
The 3/5 Compromise
Each slave counted as 3/5 a person. Slave importation would end by 1808.
Bill of Rights
First 10 amendments to the U.S. constitution. Was required by Anti-Federalists for ratification.
