Genitourinary System
The organ system of the body that involves the genital and urinary organs.
Gynecological System
The branch of medicine dealing with the functions and diseases specific to women and girls, especially those affecting the reproductive system.
Kidneys
Organs that filter excess water, salts, and waste products from the blood to produce urine.
Ureter
A tube that conveys urine from the kidney to the urinary bladder.
Urinary Bladder
A hollow organ that stores urine before it is excreted.
Hematuria
The presence of blood in urine.
Urolithiasis
The condition of having urinary stones, commonly known as kidney stones.
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
A common bacterial infection that can affect the upper or lower urinary tract.
Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)
An infection that is passed from one person to another through sexual contact.
Amenorrhea
The absence of menstruation; can be classified as primary or secondary.
Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
An infection of the female reproductive organs, often caused by STIs.
Testicular Torsion
A medical emergency resulting from the twisting of the spermatic cord.
Varicocele
Enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, caused by faulty valves.
Signs and Symptoms
Clinical indicators or feelings experienced by patients that can help diagnose a condition.
Etiology
The study of the causes or origins of a disease.
Treatment
Medical care given to a patient for an illness or injury.
Prevention
Actions taken to reduce the risk of disease or injury.
Dysuria
Painful or difficult urination.
Cervical Canal
The passage through the cervix connecting the uterus and the vagina.
