Power Distance
is a sociocultural dimension that measures the extent to which less powerful members of a society defer to and accept the unequal distribution of power. High power distance indicates a greater acceptance of hierarchical order, while low power distance suggests a preference for equality and participative decision-making.
Individualism
How people in a society see themselves and relate to others.
Collectivism
People are born into cohesive groups that protect them in exchange for lifelong loyalty, with collective goals that take over individual wants.
Masculinity
Men are expected to be assertive tough, and focused on material success in this society, women are more modest, tender, and concerned with the quality of life.
Femininity
Social gender roles overlap, both men and females are expected to be modest, tender, and focused on quality of life, cooperation, and caring for others.
Uncertainty Avoidance
Measures how comfortable people in a society are or uncomfortable, with uncertainty, ambiguity, and the unknown.
Long Term Orientation
People who are focused on long-range goals.
Short Term Orientation
A society that respects tradition, fulfilling social obligations, and seeking quick results.
Indulgence
A society that allows people to enjoy life and having fun. People are free to enjoy happiness and leisure.
Restraint
A society that suppresses needs and regulates it. People are expected to control their impulses and have self-discipline over personal pleasure.
