Axel Leap
the leg is extended to the front, moved to second then pulled into passes as the other leg tucks and a leap is struck out before landing the movement
Axel Turn
a turn in which the working leg makes a circle in the air to passe as the supporting leg lifts off the ground enabling the dancer to perform a rotation in the air and then lands on the original supporting leg
Barrel Turn
A turn with your arms straight out; airplane turn. The arms can stay open or closed during the turn and the body stays bent forward and the dancer spots the floor or front. Turning leap with the torso bending
Calypso
turning leap in which the working leg is brushed and held straight and back leg is in back attitude performing a rotation and landing on the original working leg
Coupe Jete
A compound step consisting of a coupe, making a three quarter turn and a grand jete to complete the turn
Double Stag Jump
Reach your front leg to the front and reach it to the side, take your back leg into the coupe and dig it into the ground then your front leg bends into 90 degrees and back leg goes into back attitude
Fouette Turn
Any rotating pirouette, which is propelled by a whipping of the working leg from second into passe as the dancer uses their plie and releve.
Hitch Kick
flicking one leg while the other one passes shooting into the air
Illusion Turn
The dancer steps onto a standing leg, releasing the upper body all the way forward, lifting the working leg as close to 90 degrees as possible while rotating on the standing foot.
Knee Slide
A slide across the floor on both knees
Layout
A skill which a dancer extends one leg upward showing flexibility while arching the back at the same time
Pencil Turn
a turn executed with the working leg held straight and next to the supporting leg. In releve keeping the other leg close "pencil"
Pique Turn
Traveling across the floor, with one leg stepping on the ball of the foot and the other leg in passe
Renverse
the action in which you bend their body from the waist, both sideways and backwards, with the head following the movement of the body. Takes place during a turn and only applies to three steps: a pirouette, a pas de bouree entournant and a detourne
Reverse Leap
A leap that travels back then rotates the shoulders and a split leap is executed facing the direction the dancer came from
Russian Leap
A leap which moves with the leading leg extended to second position and the supporting leg pulled underneath. the overall shape is resembling a split
Saute de basque
a traveling step in which the dancer turns in the air with one foot drawn up to the knee of the other leg
Stag Leap
Grand jete with both legs bent. the front leg in attitude and the back brushes to back attitude
Tilt Jump
vertical standing split while jumping and tilting the upper body to the side
Tour Jete
a skill the dancer takes off from one leg, executes a half turn and lands on the other leg, landing in arabesque
