Has the food we have eaten, which it then begins to breakdown through the contracting of the muscles in the stomach walls.
Small intestine
Absorbs nutrients (vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, proteins) and water from food so they can be used by the body. About 6m long and connects the stomach to the large intestine.
Large Intestine
After the small intestine. Absorbs water and salts from the material that has not been digested as food, and gets rid of any waste.
Liver
Largest organ in your body, makes bile (liquid that helps digest) and stores excess sugars. It also stores minerals, helps with blood clotting, regulates hormones, as well as metabolizes toxins.
Pancreas
Organ behind the stomach that makes digestive enzymes.
Gall Bladder
Stores bile made by the liver.
Kidney
Helps get rid of waste in your body.
