chronic hyperplastic candidosis (CHC), is a type of oral leukoplakia ass w/ a Candida fungal infection, particularly Candida albicans. It presents as white, thickened patches in the mouth, often on the inner cheeks or commissures

how can you check with gauze to see if someone has pseudomembraneous candidiasis?
the ability to easily scrape off white patches from the oral mucosa with gauze, revealing a red and possibly bleeding base, strongly suggests the presence of acute pseudomembranous candidiasis.
what are homecare instructions for dentures?
-Very warm water
-Warm saltwater rinse
-Mouthwash rinse
-Toothbrush or denture brush
-The Denture Dart V4 too
-Give the patient a toothbrush
-Have the patient rinse with mouthwash or warm water and brush their ridges over the cubicle sink
-Or Small amounts can be wiped off with dry 2x2's or small pieces of dry paper towels.

What step is important prior to starting the forms?
Patient is interviewed to understand their goals, attitudes and expectations of dental treatment. Is the patient psychologically and physically able to be treated by a DMD student and to accept /tolerate dentures? If they have dentures - how many sets over how many years? 2. Is there any emergency or immediate treatment needed for the patient?
How are pts classified by the PDI form?
Class I, II, III, IV
*class I and II are generally acceptable for DMD treatment. Class III is "sometimes" acceptable. Class IV should be referred to GPR, Faculty Practice or Grad Prosthodontics.*
