What are Complementary Angles?
Two angles whose sum is exactly 90 degrees.
What are Supplementary Angles?
Two angles whose sum is exactly 180 degrees.
What is the complement of a 45-degree angle?
45 degrees (90 - 45 = 45).
What is the supplement of a 50-degree angle?
130 degrees (180 - 50 = 130).
What are Vertically Opposite Angles?
Angles formed opposite each other when two lines intersect. They are always equal.
What is a Linear Pair?
A pair of adjacent angles formed by intersecting lines whose non-common sides form a straight line. They always add up to 180 degrees.
What is a Transversal?
A line that intersects two or more lines at distinct points.
If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, what is true about corresponding angles?
They are equal.
If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal, what is true about alternate interior angles?
They are equal.
What is the sum of interior angles on the same side of a transversal cutting parallel lines?
180 degrees (they are supplementary).
What are Adjacent Angles?
Two angles that share a common vertex and a common arm, but do not overlap.
