What is multiplication?
Multiplication is a mathematical operation that represents repeated addition of the same number.
What are the parts of a multiplication problem?
The numbers being multiplied are called factors, and the result is called the product. For example, in 3 \times 4 = 12, 3 and 4 are factors, and 12 is the product.
What is the Commutative Property of Multiplication?
The Commutative Property states that changing the order of the factors does not change the product. For example, 3 \times 5 = 15 and 5 \times 3 = 15.
What is the Identity Property of Multiplication?
The Identity Property states that any number multiplied by 1 equals that number. For example, 7 \times 1 = 7 or 1 \times 10 = 10.
What is the Zero Property of Multiplication?
The Zero Property states that any number multiplied by 0 equals 0. For example, 9 \times 0 = 0 or 0 \times 12 = 0.
