Prophase 2
Chromosomes re-coil, spindle fibers reform
Metaphase 2
Chromosomes line up single file at the equator
Anaphase 2 (this is when chromosome number is reduced)
Centromeres divide, chromatids seperate and migrate
Telophase 2
Spindle fibers dissolves, nuclear membrane and nucleolus reappear.
Crossing Over
The physical overlapping of sections of chromatids as the homologous chromosomes from tetrads during prophase 1 of meiosis.
Causes pieces of the chromatids to exchange places.
