Prepare yourself carefully before class by knowing what equipment, materials, chemicals and basic principle are involved.

Visually inspect all the equipment and glassware before each use.
Report broken glassware and equipment to your instructor. Never use equipment with broken or exposed wires or loose connections.

Always label glassware and containers as to the contents of the container using the TCC policy identifying contents, name, date and cautions.

Use extreme caution when using a gas burner and other heaters - turn off when not in use. Never leave unattended. Tie back loose clothing and hair- watch dangling clothing and jewelry. DO not put anything into flame unless instructed.

Report any and all accidents, incidents or injuries ( no matter how small) to your instructor immediately. Instructors should notify security and lab manager immediately using phone at MPS station.

You are expected to leave work areas clean, returning items, models, chemicals, equipment and supplies, to proper places or original area for use by subsequent labs. Please remove all temporary labeling from floors, desks, and cabinetry or as you wash glassware.
