Vacuum
Vacuum is a space that has no particles or matter.
Matter
Matter is anything that has mass and takes space.
Material
Material are matter that can be used to make something.
Substance
Substance are materials that has one type of matter.
How does the particle model explain shape?
The particle model explains that the arrangement and movement of particles in SLG determine the shape of substances.
What are the three states of matter described by the particle model?
The three states of matter are solids, liquids, and gases. Each state has different particle arrangements and energy levels.
How do particles behave in solids?
In solids, particles are held together strongly, it vibrates on the spot and are in fixed positions in a regular pattern.
How do particles behave in liquids?
In liquids, particles are held together strongly, slides over each other and move around randomly.
How do particles behave in gases?
In gases, particles are far apart, move in all directions and don't hold together strongly.
All materials are made up of?
Tiny particles.
