Why were the Articles of Confederation replaced?
The Articles were replaced due to their weaknesses, such as a lack of federal power to tax, regulate trade, and enforce laws, which led to ineffective governance and economic turmoil.
Louisiana Purchase
A land deal in 1803 in which the United States purchased territory from France, effectively doubling the size of the nation.
Missouri Compromise
An agreement passed in 1820 to maintain the balance of power between slave and free states by admitting Missouri as a slave state and Maine as a free state.
Monroe Doctrine
