Titration
A process used to determine the concentration of a solution by reacting it with a solution of known concentration.
NaOH
Chemical formula for Sodium hydroxide. Used in this experiment, and the goal is to determine the concentration.
HCl
Chemical formula for Hydrochloric acid. A 0.10 mol/L solution is used as the titrant in this experiment.
Buret
A piece of laboratory glassware used to accurately dispense variable amounts of a chemical solution; used in titration.
Erlenmeyer flask
A type of laboratory flask with a flat bottom, a conical body, and a cylindrical neck; used to hold the solution being titrated.
Phenolphthalein
A chemical indicator used in titrations. It is colorless in acidic solutions and pink in basic solutions.
Indicator
A substance that changes color in response to a chemical change (e.g., pH change) within a solution.
Titration Calculation
Calculations are performed to determine the concentration of NaOH in mol/L and m/V%.
