Religion is inspired by faith. Religion is the action part of faith.
What happens when we separate faith and religion?
Any person who is spiritual might think that they can have faith without religion, but that is incorrect. A spiritual person with faith needs a community. They cannot pick and choose what they want to believe, and they need their religion as their community. Faith that is not expressed through religion is not real faith.
How do Catholics relate to other Christian denominations?
They all believe that humans are physical and spiritual beings and that there is a higher power or higher state of being.
What is prayer and why is it important to faith? Why is it important to faith? Why is it important to religion?
Prayer is a way to connect with the higher being or state of being. Prayer is the way to talk to the higher being whom we place our faith in. Prayer is important to religion because we are expressing our thoughts and concerns to God. We are taking action to our faith.
Is faith important to you? Explain how so.
My faith in God is very important to me. When I put my trust in God, he gives me a stable corner stone where I can place my worries. Having faith in God offers me a happier lifestyle. Without my faith, my heart will never be satisfied. No matter what I try to fill that space with, my faith is the only way that I can be truly happy.
With what part of a specific religion do you identify? How does this religion reflect your faith?
I am part of the Lutheran Church. The basis of Lutheranism is that everybody has received God's gift of salvation through faith. In my religion, God offers us the gift of faith, but it is up to us to accept it. As Lutherans, we strived to spread the Good News of God. Lutheranism reflects by faith by showing others and myself the relationship that we can have with God if we accept him.
