How does damage to the premotor cortex differ from damage to the supplementary motor area?
Premotor: inability to perform actions in response to visual cues. e.g. mimicking a gesture
Supplementary: inability to perform learned actions like buttoning up a shirt to tying shoes.
Describe damage to the mulitmodal areas: Wernicke’s, PTO, Dorsal and medial prefrontal cortex
Wernicke - difficulty in understanding or creating meaningful speech
PTO - neglect over the contralateral side of the body
DPC - Compromised decisions, planning and judgement
MPC - compromised personality and emotion
