Adjacent Angles
Two angles that share a side and vertex and are next to each other. They are NOT automatically congruent.
Complementary Angles
Two angles whose measures add up to 90∘, implying m∠1+m∠2=90∘.
Supplementary Angles
Two angles whose measures add up to 180∘, implying m∠1+m∠2=180∘.
Vertical Angles
Opposite angles formed when two lines intersect, implying that vertical angles are congruent.
Congruent
Figures, angles, or segments that have the same measure or size, implying their measures are equal.
Midpoint
A point that divides a segment into two equal parts, implying that if B is the midpoint of AC, then AB≅BC.
Parallel Implication
Parallel lines cut by a transversal create special angle relationships, implying corresponding angles and alternate interior/exterior angles are congruent, while same-side interior angles are supplementary.
