What is translocation?
Transportation of sugars in the phloem.
How are these sugars in translocation produced?
Through photosynthesis in the leaves.
Why does translocation occur?
To share sugars made in the leaves through photosynthesis with the rest of the plant so they can be used for energy.
What us phloem?
Consists of living cells (unlike xylem) arranged end to end. Moves products from photosynthesis around plant to where they are needed for processes.
