Clavicle
• long bone ( runs medial - lateral)
• rounded sternal end ( articulates with sternum)
• Articulates with acromial process of scapula
Shoulder vs shoulder gridle?
Shoulder is referring to the glenoid Humeral
Shoulder gridle refers clavicle and scapula
Scapula ( landmarks)
-Superior and anterior angle ( top and bottom of scapula
-medial and lateral borders ( vertebra border sit close to spine) ( axillary border closer to armpit)
-spine ( posterior view)
-acromion process ( wing like project from spine)
-Coracoid process ( bird beck)
- Glenoid fossa ( where head of humerus goes)
-supraglenoid tubercle and infraglenoid tubercle ( bump on top of glenoid) ( bump on the bottom of glenoid)
-supraspinous and Infraspinous - separates rhe spine top to bottom
-subscapular fossa - scooped out area of anterior side of Scapula
Humerus
•long bone
• posterior / anterior ( p=olecranon in back) ( a= Coronoid fossa in front)
Head of humerus is ( medial side) / this helps identify which epicondyle is medial or lateral
humerus landmarks
-Head ( articulates with the glenoid)
-Neck (anatomical and surgical)
-Greater or lesser tubercles ( tuberosity) =bumps
-Bicipital groove ( anterior side)
-Deltoid tuberosity( bump side of humerus/ almost half way down the humerus
-Medial and lateral epicondyles - (m) same side as humerus / (L)opposite side of humerus
-spull and marvel aka trochlea and capitulum (t articulates with ulna trochlea notch) / (c meets radial head laterally)
Humerus landmark ( continued)
-Coronoid fossa ( medial hole of humerus) (Coronoid process of ulna goes into Coronoid fossa)
-Radial fossa ( lateral hole of humerus)( radial head goes into radial fossa when arm is bent)
-Olecranon fossa (posterior view) ( olecranon process of ulna is goes into fossa
Ulna
-Olecranon ( goes into olecranon fossa of humerus)
-trochlear notch (looks like a candy cane with a U)
-Coronoid process ( pointy front part)
- radial notch ( proximal end of bone, on lateral side where radial head fits
-Ulnar head - (distal end of bone)
-ulnar styloid process ( pointy projection on the end of ulna)
-
Radius
•long bone
•smaller proximally
•big distally
Radius ( landmarks)
-Radial head (spins against radial notch of ulna when supinating and pronating)
-Dorsal tubercle of the radius( a bump on distal/ dorsal surface of radius aka lister tubercle)
-Radial styloid process (pointed projection laterally to the dorsal tubercle)
-Ulnar notch of radius ( ln distal end of radius where it connect with ulna together)
