The main sensory nerve of the face and motor nerve for the muscles of mastication

Facial expresions, sense of taste on anterior 2/3's of tongue (sweet and salty)
Vagus
Largest cranial nerve; helps control blood pressure; slows heart rate; simulates digestive organs; taste; gag reflexes; vocal cords
Accessory
Motor,Neck muscle. Resistance Shrug shoulders, turn head
Vestibulocochlear
Hearing and equilibrium
Glossopharyngeal
Sense of taste on posterior 1/3 of tongue (bitter) and aids vagus in swallowing
Cranial Nerve V (5)
Trigeminal= tactile facial sensation, movement of muscles for chewing
Sensory= Face, jaw & mouth
Motor= Jaw & soft palate
Cranial Nerve VII (7)
Facial= taste, movement of facial muscles
Sensory= taste, mucous membrane of soft palate and pharynx
Motor= face & lips

Vestibulocochlear= hearing and equilibrium
Sensory= hearing & balance
Cranial Nerve IX (9)
Glossopharyngeal= taste, gag reglex, elevation of palate and larynx for swallow
Sensory= taste, mucous membrane of the pharynx, middle ear, and mouth
Motor= pharynx
Cranial Nerve X (10)
Vagus= taste, elevation of palate, movement of the pharynx and larynx
Sensory= mucous membrane of pharynx, larynx, soft palate, tongue & lungs
Motor= larynx & pharynx
Cranial Nerve XI (11)
Accessory=turn head, shrug shoulders, movements of palate, pharynx, and larynx
Motor= soft palate, larynx, pharynx & neck
Cranial Nerve XII (12)
Hypoglossal= movement of the tongue
Sensory= tongue
Motor= tongue
