Remember the human - always remember that you are talking to a real person and that the purpose of the internet is to bring the world together. i would say this to the person’s face.

Adhere the same standards that you follow in real life to online - behave the same way as you would in real ife.

Know where you are in cyberspace - always look around when you enter a new domain when surfing the internet. get a sense of what the discussion group is all about before you join it.

Respect other people’s time and bandwidth - remember that other people have other things to do, keep your posts and emails short, and remember that not everyone will anwer your questions

Make yourself look good online - be polite and pleasant to everyone, check spelling and grammar when posting, and know what ure talking about and make sense of it.

Share expert knowledge - share what you know and ask questions online. post the answers to your questions because someone may have the same question as you

Help help flame under control - netiquette does not forgive flaming (doesn’t excuse rude behavior, even if emotions run high.). netiquette does however forbid people who are flaming to hurt discussion groupd by putting the group down.

Respect other people’s privacy - do not read other people’s mail or personal messages without permission. it could cost you something, it is bad netiquette.

Do not abuse your power - don’t take advantage of other people just because you have more knowledge or power over them. treat others as you would treat yourself.

Be forgiving of other people’s mistake - do not point out mistakes to people online, remember that you once new too.
