Republic Act 9262
Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, protecting women and children from abuse by partners or intimate relations.
Republic Act 9262
Applies to abuse against a wife, ex-wife, live-in partner, girlfriend/boyfriend, fiancé, woman with common child, or her children (legitimate or illegitimate).
Physical Violence
Bodily harm such as battery, assault, causing or threatening physical injury.
Sexual Violence
Acts of sexual nature such as rape, harassment, treating woman/child as sex object, forcing indecent acts.
Psychological Violence
Acts causing emotional suffering: verbal abuse, humiliation, stalking, threats, denial of financial support.
Economic Abuse
Acts making a woman financially dependent, such as controlling income, preventing work, or destroying property.

Refers to any act or a series of acts committed by an intimate partner.

Harassment
pattern of unwanted behavior, often repeated, that is threatening, humiliating, or makes someone feel uncomfortable and can include verbal abuse, stalking, and intimidation.

refers to actions or decisions made without a clear reason, judgment, or fairness, often based on whim or caprice, rather than on established rules or laws
Protection Order
issued under this act for the purpose of preventing further acts of violence against a woman or her child and granting other necessary grief.
Barangay Protection Orders (BPO)
effective for 15 days

Temporary Protection Orders (TPO)
effective for 30 days.

Burns

small hole caused by a pointy object like a nail, needle, or bullet (bullet puncture).
Avulsion
partial or complete tearing away of the skin and the tissue beneath.
