Wilayah Pengaruh (Area of Influence)

An area where the people accept and acknowledge the rule of a king.

Rakyat (Citizens)

Residents of a region who are loyal to the king and do not betray him.

Kerajaan (Government)

Exists because of the presence of a Raja; the highest ruler, assisted by dignitaries.

Demonstrate loyalty to the Sultan of Melaka and abide by the laws implemented.

Kedaulatan (Sovereignty)

Symbol of the Sultan's highest authority; the Sultan's absolute right to control the people and the territory.

Chief administrator, chief of staff of the armed forces, advises the Sultan on various matters, acting Sultan.

Manages the treasury in an orderly manner.

Temenggung

Responsible for maintaining the security of the city of Melaka.

Laksamana

Commander of the Melaka naval forces.

Syahbandar

Collects taxes at the port.
